The Burning Bear Trail resides high in the Rockies along the Guanella Pass road that connects Georgetown and Grant. From US 285 at Grant, turn north on the Guanella Pass road and go 5 miles to the Burning Bear trailhead. The sandy, firm hardpack trail meanders 5.6 miles up the canyon, rising 2320 feet in elevation along the way. This is an out & back ride, so total distance is 11.6 miles. This trail is little known and less used, making it a great getaway for those seeking solitude in the mountains. |
