Aspen / Buck Loop
Looking for sweet singletrack without crowds? Well, the Aspen/Buck Loop, 20 miles west of Montrose may be your thing. This 16.5-mile loop on the Uncompahgre Plateau has something for everyone: smooth singletrack sweeping through meadows of wildflower and twisting through dense aspen groves, technical rocky and rooty stretches, and expansive panoramic views. The loop is routinely ridden in a counterclockwise direction. Iron Springs Campground, just a mile from the trailhead, serves as an ideal basecamp to explore this trail and others on the Plateau.
Park along Hwy 90.
