COLORADO TRAIL: Kenosha Pass to Rock Creek Trailhead
This 6.3 portion of the Colorado Trail runs from the western boundary of the Lost Creek Winderness to US Hwy 285 at Kenosha Pass. It is especially popular in the fall, as the trail winds through dense stands of aspen, which don gold apparel in late September. The trail has a moderate grade, but is quite rocky in places. Most bikers will tackle this as an out & back ride from Kenosha Pass, where there is ample parking and easy trail access. That makes for a 12.6 mile outing, perfect for a day ride. You will descend about 900 feet going toward the Lost Creek Wilderness, then have to regain it on the return. Park at the campground day use lot east of Hwy 285.
