Mary's Loop
One of the better known beginner to intermediate rides in Fruita is Mary's Loop, located just south of the Loma exit on I-70 about 6 miles west of Fruita.  Mary's is the keystone of the many loop trails that wander along the benches overlooking the Colorado River and is the trail used to access the others. This 8.5 mile trail offers a nice mix of singletrack and wider doubletrack. Like most of the loop trails, Mary's is relatively level, with modest elevation changes. Trail tread is compacted earth and rock, with some ledges and drops. Mary's Loop offers unsurpassed views of the mighty Colorado River from high above.  There are a few points with steep drop-offs during the ride where you'll want to be extra careful.  If you are afraid of heights, it is best to walk your bike through these areas. Allow 1-2 hours to ride Mary's Loop alone, or up to 6 hours to include several of the adjoining loops. Huge and very popular parking lot.
